Jane DeLynn was born in New York City and is the daughter of Wilson and Bernice DeLynn. She received a B.A. from Barnard College and a M.F.A. from the University of Iowa. She is the author of Variations on an Obituary, In Thrall, Real Estate, Don Juan in the Village, Bad Sex is Good, and Leash She has received the Elizabeth Janeway Prize, a grant from International PEN, New York Foundation for the Arts Award, an Edward Albee Foundation Award and the New York Times Notable Book Awards. She has had fellowships at MacDowell and Yaddo.
