At MacDowell, Janine Salinas worked on revisions of her play, The Anatomy of Gazelles, as well as a first draft of a new play. She has been a finalist for the Bay Area Playwrights Festival, a quarter-finalist for the Nicholl Fellowship in Screenwriting, and a nominee for the Princess Grace Award and the Wendy Wasserstein Prize. The Anatomy of Gazelles was developed as part of the 2009-2010 Center Theatre Group Writers' Workshop.

by the Phi Beta Fraternity, a national professional fraternity of
music and speech founded in 1912, Phi Beta Studio was built between 1929–1931 of granite quarried on the MacDowell grounds. The
small studio is a simple in design, but displays a pleasing
combination of materials with its granite walls and colorful slate
roofing.
