Jas Hammonds is a queer fiction writer currently based in New Jersey. She has received writing fellowships, scholarships, and residencies from Lambda Literary, Sundress Academy for the Arts, and the Highlights Foundation. When she's not reading or writing, she works as a flight attendant where she can frequently be found daydreaming at 30,000 feet.
While at MacDowell she worked on revisions for two young adult novel novels about queer Black girls in the South.
Sorosis
Studio was funded by the New York Carol Club of Sorosis. The small,
masonry studio was designed by F. Winsor, Jr., the architect who also
designed Savidge Library (1926) and Mixter Studio (1927).
At
the time of construction, the large porch on the southeast façade
