Jeanine Herman is a translator of French literature, philosophy, psychoanalysis, and art criticism. She has translated works by Julien Gracq, Pierre Clastres, Jean Genet, and Francis Ponge, and her work has appeared in Artforum, Palais de Tokyo, and The Paris Review. Her most recent translation is Julia Kristeva’s Hatred and Forgiveness (Columbia University Press). She is a chevalier in the French Order of Arts and Letters.
