Jeff Thompson is an artist based in the New York City area, where he serves as associate professor of visual arts and technology at Stevens Institute of Technology. With his partner Angeles Cossio, he co-founded the experimental curatorial project Drift Station.
Thompson has had recent exhibitions and residencies at SPACES in Cleveland, Locust Projects in Miami, Tufts University, the Fridman Gallery, Bell Labs, the University of Cambridge, and Grizzly Grizzly in Philadelphia. In 2021, Thompson completed Opossum.png, a 968-page artist book and accompanying website with Black Rock Press that makes physical the entire contents of a single, low-resolution photograph.
While at MacDowell in 2022, he wrote code to generate large prints inspired by precision measuring tools, 3D printed molds for ceramics, and made hundreds of cyanotypes of Cheetos.
