Jeff Jackson adapted The Dream of the Red Chamber for a multimedia theater piece and worked on his second novel. He cowrote the play Botanica which had a month-long run in Manhattan in February 2012.

Funded by the Phi Beta Fraternity, a national professional fraternity of music and speech founded in 1912, Phi Beta Studio was built between 1929–1931 of granite quarried on the MacDowell grounds.
