Painter Jeffrey Torrey grew up in North Andover, MA. He studied fine arts at The Art Institute of Boston and continued his education studying at the Montserrat College of Art, Beverly, MA and the Massachusetts College of Art, Boston MA. He was a Fellow at MacDowell, the Cummington Community for the Arts, and the Johnson Art School and Colony.

While in college, he spent one summer painting on a remodeling crew in Cambridge, MA. In the summer of 1983 he registered and started my own home painting business. He now works painting homes around New England

Jeffrey Torrey worked in the New Hampshire studio.

New Hampshire Studio, originally named Peterborough Studio, was given to MacDowell by Mr. and Mrs. William Schofield, Mrs. H. A. Chamberlain, Mrs. Andrew Draper, and Miss Ruth Cheney. The studio was renamed in 1943. The Gilbert Verney Foundation established an endowed maintenance fund in 1990, and a bequest in memory of MacDowell Fellow Victor Candell underwrote the…
