Jennifer Viola is a visual artist making mixed media drawings and paintings on paper and "collecting" and arranging everyday objects into imagined still lifes. Originally from upstate New York, she is based in Brooklyn and Riegelsville, PA.

She received a B.F.A. from the Cooper Union for the Advancement of Science and Art, and an M.F.A. from the School of Visual Arts. She was an artist in residence at the Henry Street Settlement Abrons Art Center and has received a New York Foundation for the Arts fellowship in painting.

At MacDowell, Viola worked on a series of diaristic mixed media works on paper based, in part, on her time at MacDowell.
