Jeremiah Hulsebos-Spofford is an artist and educator based in Chicago. He teaches sculpture and contemporary practices at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Born in Vermont, Hulsebos-Spofford received his M.F.A. from the University of Illinois at Chicago and B.A. from Bard College. He was recently a fellow at MacDowell and attended the Skowhegan School of Sculpture and Painting in 2011. He has taught at the University of Illinois at Chicago, DePaul Universit,y and co-directed the Community Expressive Arts Project, a not-for-profit that works domestically and internationally to effect change through the arts. His work has been shown in the United States and Italy where in 2010 he spent a year living and working in Sicily as a Fulbright Scholar. Hulsebos-Spofford has received grants from the Harpo Foundation, the Propellor Fund, and is currently a 2014 Illinois Arts Council Visual Arts Fellow.
