Jody Lee Lipes worked on his first feature length screenplay, the Shaker drama Confederacy, which was selected for the 2011 Sundance Screenwriters Lab. Lipes also directed and shot season one of HBO's Girls. She resides in New York City.

Wood Studio, given to the residency program by Mrs. Frederick Trevor Hill, was completed in 1913 in memory of Mrs. Hill’s mother, Helen Ogden Wood. Like Schelling Studio, the building is sided with large, overlapping pieces of hemlock bark.
