Jody Winer has worked as a writer, dog wrangler, librarian, video editor, and public school volunteer. She is a fellow of MacDowell and the Virginia Center for the Creative Arts, as well as a member of PEN. Raised in Florida, she lives in New York. She holds an MA in Modern Literature from the University of Kent, Canterbury, England, a Master of Library and Information Science from Simmons College, and a BA cum laude from Pomona College. She was a Trustee Scholar at the University of Chicago.

At MacDowell in 2005, Jody completed two groups of new poems. Her work had appeared recently in Epoch, Open City, The Massachusetts Review, The Spoon River Poetry Review, and other journals.

Phi Beta

Jody Winer worked in the Phi Beta studio.

Funded by the Phi Beta Fraternity, a national professional fraternity of music and speech founded in 1912, Phi Beta Studio was built between 1929–1931 of granite quarried on the MacDowell grounds.
