John Alsop developed a feature-length screenplay about the adventures of American landscape architects Walter Burley Griffin and Marion Mahony Griffin after they won a 1913 competition to design the new Australian national capital. It did not go smoothly from there. John has previously written extensively for Australian television.

Funded by the Phi Beta Fraternity, a national professional fraternity of music and speech founded in 1912, Phi Beta Studio was built between 1929–1931 of granite quarried on the MacDowell grounds.
