John Kennedy is a music conductor and composer who was trained at the Oberlin Conservatory and Northwestern University. He co-founded and led the new music ensemble, Essential Music, and founded Santa Fe New Music, serving as artist President/Chair of the American Music Center. Kennedy’s musical compositions have been performed worldwide, including in San Francisco, Paris, Zurich, Singapore, London, and more. He is currently a Lecturer in the Department of Music at Santa Clara University and Resident Conductor and Director of Orchestral actives of Spoleto Festival USA.

Given to the residency by the Monday Music Club of Orange, NJ, Monday Music Studio is sited next to an enormous boulder deposited by glaciers thousands of years ago.
