While at MacDowell, Jonathan Pieslak began work on a commission for the Plainfield Symphony Orchestra (Plainfield, NJ). The work was commissioned through the Jerome Foundation and the American Composers Forum, and would be premiered during the 2004-2005 season.

Jonathan Pieslak worked in the Veltin studio.
Veltin Studio was donated by alumni of the Veltin School, a school for girls in New York with a highly respected visual arts department.
