Julian is the Co-Writer of Complete Unknown, (2016 Sundance Film Festival, Amazon), directed by Joshua Marston, and starring Rachel Weisz, Michael Shannon, Kathy Bates, and Danny Glover. His plays include Buicks (Underwood Theater, Drama Desk Nominee for Outstanding Play), Los Angeles (Pacific Resident Theater; Flea Theater – directed by Adam Rapp and starring Katherine Waterston), Love and Happiness (Barrington Stage), Owned (commissioned and produced by Knife Edge Productions, TBG Theater.), and Skin & Bones, (commissioned and produced by StageFarm at the Cherry Lane Theatre.)

Other plays have been produced in New York at Soho Rep, Miranda Theatre, Blue Heron Arts Center, Lincoln Center Directors' Lab, Juilliard, and Nada, as well as throughout the U.S. and internationally. His work has also been developed at numerous theaters, including The Public Theater, Manhattan Theatre Club, Primary Stages, New York Theater Workshop, MCC, New York Stage & Film, Rattlestick, Woolly Mammoth, Arena Stage, The Lark, Chautauqua Theater Company, EST-LA, Ars Nova, the WPA, and Williamstown Theater Festival.

He has written a pilot for Joe Roth/Paramount/CBS based on his play, Buicks, and has worked extensively in sports media for ESPN both for network and digital content. He’s developed shows for Comedy Central, and contributed to NPR’s “Ask Me Another.”

Julian is a graduate of the Lila Acheson Wallace Playwrights Program at the Juilliard School and has a B.A. from Kenyon College.
