Julie Gross was born in Montreal and is a New York based artist who has been painting in studios in Soho and Chelsea for many years. She graduated from Pratt (B.F.A.) & then Hunter (M.A.) and has taught at various colleges, including Parsons School of Design, Pratt & RISD. She has had numerous one & two person and group shows, nationally and internationally. She’s the recipient of National Endowment for the Arts and Caps grants & has been granted residencies at Yaddo, Macdowell, Ucross, VCCA and others. Her work is represented in many corporate & private collections.

Originally a working barn perched atop the namesake hill of Hillcrest Farm, this building was converted to serve the arts in 1956.
