At MacDowell, June Unjoo Yang was writing two new stories to add to her collection of short fiction. One of the stories in her collection won the Nelson Algren award for Short Fiction in 2002; others have appeared recently in Glimmer Train, Manoa, and Bellingham Review.

June Unjoo Yang worked in the Calderwood studio.
In the winter of 1998, motivated by his passion for reading, Stanford Calderwood donated funds for a new writers’ studio.
