Katarina Jerinic makes photographs, maps, and ephemera that respond to and intervene in built landscapes. Her work is based on observations made while walking in cities and wandering through thoughts about the past and present phenomena of particular places.
Jerinic's mixed-media projects and public space-based interventions have recently been included in exhibitions at Baxter St at CCNY, New York; Marjorie Barrick Museum of Art at University of Nevada Las Vegas; Arlington Arts Center, Arlington, VA; BRIC Arts Media House, Brooklyn, NY; Storm King Art Center, Cornwall, NY; and others. Her public project Cloud Drift, installed along the Gowanus Canal in Brooklyn in the summer of 2017, was supported by the New York City Department of Transportation's Art Program and the Puffin Foundation, along with numerous community partners. Previous project support includes Times Square Alliance; Brooklyn Arts Council; and chashama. Residencies include Baxter St at Camera Club of New York; Center for Book Arts; Lower Manhattan Cultural Council Swing Space; and SPACES, Cleveland. Her work has been discussed in Hyperallergic, New York Magazine, Washington City Paper, Washington Post, Philadelphia Inquirer, and more. Jerinic has an M.F.A. in photography and related media from School of Visual Arts and a B.A. in history from American University.
