Kate Moses worked on her second novel, The Fayum Portraits. Her previous novel, Wintering: A Novel of Sylvia Plath, received the Janet Heidinger Kafka Prize and was translated into a dozen languages. Her memoir, Cakewalk, was published in May 2010.

The yellow clapboard New Jersey Studio, located on a grassy, sloping site, was funded by the New Jersey Federation of Women’s Clubs and built as an exact replica of Monday Music Studio (1913).
