Kathy Aoki is a visual artist whose work comments on pop culture and gender issues using humor, narrative, and art historical references.
Her work can be found in the collections of the New York Metropolitan Museum of Art, the City of Seatlle, SFMOMA, the Spencer Museum, and the Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco. Aoki lives in the Silicon Valley, where she is a professor of studio art at Santa Clara University.
She is grateful to MacDowell and its residents for changing her life forever in 2001.
