Katrina Dodson is the translator of The Complete Stories, by Clarice Lispector, winner of the 2016 PEN Translation Prize and a 2019 NEA Fellowship in Translation, among other awards. Her writing has appeared in The Believer, Guernica, McSweeney’s, and The Millions. She holds a Ph.D. in comparative literature from the University of California, Berkeley.

At MacDowell she completed a full draft translation of the Brazilian modernist classic Macunaíma, the Hero Without Character, by Mário de Andrade, for New Directions (2019). She also organized and edited the manuscript of The Translator's Notebook, a book about translating Brazilian writer Clarice Lispector, and completed an essay related to the topic for the Fall 2018 issue of the arts and literature journal The Serving Library.
