Lance Edmands worked on the screenplay for his second film. His debut feature, BLUEBIRD, was invited to the 2010 Sundance Institute Screenwriters and Directors Labs and received a KRF production grant from the San Francisco Film Society. Edmands was born and raised in Maine.

Lance Edmands worked in the Mixter studio.
Built in 1927–1930, the Florence Kilpatrick Mixter Studio was funded by its namesake and designed by the architect F. Winsor, Jr., who also designed MacDowell's original Savidge Library in 1925.
