Laurie Parker is a screenwriter and film and music producer who has worked with Jane Campion, Gus Van Sant, and Tim Burton, among others. She worked on the screenplay adaptation of Alice Sebold’s memoir Lucky for director Jane Campion and has previously cowritten an original screenplay with director Alison Maclean. She also wrote the screenplay and lyrics for a 3D animated R&B musical feature film based on Edward Lear’s poem "The Owl And The Pussycat."

New Hampshire Studio, originally named Peterborough Studio, was given to MacDowell by Mr. and Mrs. William Schofield, Mrs. H. A. Chamberlain, Mrs. Andrew Draper, and Miss Ruth Cheney.
