Leah Griesmann has received a 2015 Swatch Art Peace Hotel Writing Residency in Shanghai, a 2015 Elizabeth George Foundation Grant in Fiction, a 2014 MacDowell Fellowship in Fiction, a 2013 DAAD Grant in Fiction (Berlin), and a 2010-2011 Steinbeck Fellowship in Fiction. Her stories have recently appeared in The Weekly Rumpus, Union Station, The Cortland Review, J Journal: New Writing on Justice, and PEN Center USA's The Rattling Wall. Her nonfiction pieces have been published by Poets & Writers, The Review Review, United Press International, The Virginia Quarterly Review online, Burrow Press Review, The Transnational, and The Huffington Post, among other publications.

Leah Griesmann worked in the Chapman studio.
Chapman Studio was funded by Mrs. Alice Woodrough Chapman in memory of her husband, composer George Alexander Chapman. Symmetrically massed, the building is stuccoed on the exterior with a natural, unpainted cement. Its unusual half-timbered ornament consists of slender, knotty spruce poles painted a dark green color. A central, peak-roofed entrance porch appears on the north side…
