Lilian MacKendrick (1906-1987) was an American Impressionist painter. A graduate of New York University with a degree in fine arts, she went on to study sculpture at City College of New York as well as painting at the Art Students League. Her best work echoes Bonnard and Matisse and many of her paintings feature exuberant color and extensive patterning. She had numerous exhibitions and her work is in the permanent collections of the Hirshhorn, Wadsworth Atheneum, and MMA, among others.
