Lisa Reisman currently is a Connecticut freelance reporter whose work has appeared in the New Haven Independent, the Shoreline Times, the New Haven Register, the Middletown Press, the New Haven Advocate, Connecticut Magazine, Boston Magazine, and Poets & Writers Magazine. She has written copy for The New Yorker and Conde Nast Traveler. She manages the Sin Sisters Band, a popular Connecticut group with a repertoire that ranges from swing to Motown to classic rock.
Reisman studied Ancient Greek and Latin at Haverford, Oxford and Yale, and law at the University of Virginia. She practiced law in New York City for four years.
A Dean's Fellow at Columbia University's School of the Arts, she also has been supported by fellowships from MacDowell, the Ucross Foundation, the Virginia Center for the Creative Arts and Wesleyan University, and a work study scholarship from the Bread Loaf Writers' Conference.
5 Months 10 Years 2 Hours, which was a 2015 Santa Fe Writers Project Award Winner, is her first book.
At MacDowell in 2003, she worked on her memoir, A Hole in the Head.
