Louise A. Blum worked on Fracked, a novel about the poisonous effects of hydraulic fracturing on a small town in rural Pennsylvania. Her memoir, You're Not From Around Here, Are You? A Lesbian in Small-Town America, was named an Honor Book by the American Library Association's LGBT Round Table in 2002, and her first novel, Amnesty, was a finalist for the Lambda Literary Award. She was on sabbatical from her job teaching LGBT literature, protest literature, graphic novel, disaster literature, young adult dystopian literature, and fiction writing to first generation college students in north central Pennsylvania.
