Lucy Ferriss is the author of nine books, mostly fiction, including the recent novels Dishonor (2015) and The Lost Daughter (2012). Other recent work appears in The New York Times, Fourth Genre, and Missouri Review, and has received recognition from the NEA, the Mid-List First Series, and the International Society for Narrative. She is Writer-in-Residence at Trinity College and divides her time between Connecticut and the Berkshires of western Massachusetts.

Marian MacDowell and friends originally named this studio in memory of Anna Baetz, the nurse who helped care for Edward MacDowell in the waning years of his life.
