Maja Kihlstedt is a visual artist known for her drawings and mixed media pieces. She earned a B.A. in fine arts from The Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Copenhagen, Denmark, attended New York Studio School of drawing, painting, and sculpture, and studied painting, photography, print-making, and drawing on full scholarship at Yale School of the Arts’ Norfolk Summer Scholarship Program. She has also been a resident or fellow at Roger Williams College, The Virginia Center for the Creative Arts, The Millay Colony, the Ragdale Foundation, MacDowell, Yaddo, and more. Kihlstedt is the recipient of the Magnus Laurentius Medices Medal and the Lorenzo il Magnifico Premie at Bienniale Internazionale della Arts Contemporanea in Florence, Italy as well as grants from Woodstock Art Guild, Palenville InterArt, and The Langman Foundation. Her work has been exhibited worldwide.
