During her MacDowell residency, Marcia Rudin finished her screenplay, Promised Land and wrote the first draft of a new screenplay, Closings. One of her new plays, Unaccompanied Minor, was a finalist in the Florida Playwrights Process 2003 contest and received honorable mention in the Writer's Digest Competition. One of her screenplays, Bring Forth the Light was a quarter finalist in a large screenplay competition.

Van Zorn (formerly Kirby)
Marcia Rudin worked in the Van Zorn (formerly Kirby) studio.
Constructed thanks to a bequest from Sarah L. Kirby, Kirby Studio was the last new building to be erected during Mrs. MacDowell’s leadership (1907-1951).
