Margo Margolis is an American painter and the recipient of numerous awards including two National Endowment for the Arts Fellowships, New York State Council on the Arts Grant, Yaddo and MacDowell Fellowships. Her work has been shown in solo exhibitions at Brooke Alexander Gallery, New York; Esso Gallery, New York; Beth Urdang Gallery, Boston; and included in group exhibitions at the Renaissance Society, University of Chicago, Munson-Williams Proctor Institute in Utica, NY, University Museum in Santa Barbara, CA, Delahunty Gallery in Dallas. Her work is in the collections of the Brooklyn Museum, Philadelphia Museum, Zimmerli Archives at Rutgers University, Chase Manhattan Bank Collection in New York, at General Mills in Minneapolis, at Estee Lauder in New York among other public collections.

New Hampshire Studio, originally named Peterborough Studio, was given to MacDowell by Mr. and Mrs. William Schofield, Mrs. H. A. Chamberlain, Mrs. Andrew Draper, and Miss Ruth Cheney. The studio was renamed in 1943. The Gilbert Verney Foundation established an endowed maintenance fund in 1990, and a bequest in memory of MacDowell Fellow Victor Candell underwrote the…
