JA Vieux brings the outside in with Nature inspired, contemporary, 2-D & 3-D fine art.
Trees are a vital source in my work and a vital symbol in the construction of human consciousness. I spiral trees to draw the eye to fascinating shapes; archetypal symbols; and an aesthetic description of the temporality of life. At first glance, my work is abstract, an abstraction grounded in Nature’s primal designs.
I employ a variety of industrial and artistic modalities. My collaged, mixed media sculptures and nature installations draw attention to the vibrancy of trees and their importance to local ecologies. My photography both documents this process and challenges the boundaries of realism. Industrial digital prints compose my modular installations, providing viewers with tactile access to the rhythms of the ancient forest and the original site specific sculpture experiences.
Nature is our first home; my goal is to use this work as a source of inspiration and support for each individual and their larger community.
