Marina Petrova is a writer of short fiction living in New York City. Her stories have appeared in The Pinch Journal, Catapult, The Conium Review, and Empty Mirror magazine. At MacDowell she worked on her short story collection. Her collection focuses on themes of fallibility of perception and displacement. Marina Petrova worked in the Sprague-Smith studio.
In January of 1976, the original Sprague-Smith Studio — built in 1915–1916 and funded by music students of Mrs. Charles Sprague-Smith of the Veltin School — was destroyed by fire.
