Mark Behm is an American composer specializing in chamber music and solo piano works. Behm studied composition at the Univeristy of Illinois under the guidance of Ben Johnston, Scott Wyatt, Herbert BrĂ¼n, and Salvatore Martirano. Behm lists his influences to be American composers Charles Ives and Elliot Carter, the Japanese composer Toru Takemitsu, and the European composers Gyorgy Ligeti, Witold Lutoslawski, Roberto Gerhard, and Pierre Boulez.

Youngstown Studio was given to MacDowell by friends of Miss Myra McKeown in Youngstown, OH, where she promoted both art and music. It was renamed Irving Fine Studio in 1972 in honor of Irving Fine, a distinguished composer, conductor, and teacher who was a MacDowell Fellow during the 1940s and 1950s.
