Mark Salzman is a writer who hasn't written much since becoming a stay-at-home dad in 2001. He loves his kids, but he enjoyed being by himself for a few weeks at MacDowell. At MacDowell, he worked on a book about existential anxiety - creating a plot for the novel, completing a rough draft for it, and beginning the second draft.

Van Zorn (formerly Kirby)

Mark Salzman worked in the Van Zorn (formerly Kirby) studio.

Constructed thanks to a bequest from Sarah L. Kirby, Kirby Studio was the last new building to be erected during Mrs. MacDowell’s leadership (1907-1951).
