Mark Wasiuta worked on two projects while at MacDowell. The first is a history of the air, pollutants, and contaminants of Los Angeles. The second is titled Environments, Counter Environments and deals with new media experiments in Italian architecture of the early 1970s.

In the winter of 1998, motivated by his passion for reading, Stanford Calderwood donated funds for a new writers’ studio.
