Mary-Beth Hughes is the author of Wavemaker II, Double Happiness, The Loved Ones, and most recently, The Ocean House. Her stories have appeared in The Paris Review, Ploughshares, A Public Space, and other literary magazines. While at MacDowell in 2022, she worked on an untitled novel in progress and an essay based on interviews with a contemporary choreographer and dance archivist.
