Matthew Baker is the author of Hybrid Creatures, a collection of stories written in hybrid languages, and the children's novel If You Find This. His stories have appeared in publications such as The Paris Review, American Short Fiction, One Story, Electric Literature, Conjunctions, and Best of the Net. He has an M.F.A. from Vanderbilt University, where he was the founding editor of Nashville Review.

Sorosis
Matthew Baker worked in the Sorosis studio.
Sorosis Studio was funded by the New York Carol Club of Sorosis. The small, masonry studio was designed by F. Winsor, Jr., the architect who also designed Savidge Library (1926) and Mixter Studio (1927).
