Maureen Sun is a writer and scholar. Her first novel The Sisters K is forthcoming from Unnamed Press in the spring of 2024. Her work has been recognized in The Best American Essays 2021 and received support from the Elizabeth George Foundation and MacDowell.
She has taught at Princeton, Barnard, NYU, and the University of Hong Kong, and is currently based in New Haven, where she is at work on a second novel and an essay collection, Impurities.
At MacDowell, Sun finished final copy edits on The Sisters K (Unnamed Press, 2024). She then began her second book, provisionally titled Desert View, which is based on a series of interviews she conducted in Israel/Palestine over the summer of 2023. This project was originally conceived as a long essay but has since developed into a novel, of which she completed nearly three chapters during the final four weeks of her residency.
