Michael Beatty is a sculptor, visual artist, and educator based in Boston. Beatty received his bachelor’s degree in printmaking from the University of Kansas, and went on to receive a master’s degree from the Massachusetts College of Art and Design. His work has been featured in several publications, including The Boston Globe, Architectural Digest, and Frieze, and he has received grants from the Berkshire Taconic Artist Resource Trust, the Massachusetts Cultural Council, the St. Botolph Foundation, and was a visiting artist at the American Academy in Rome. Beatty’s work has been exhibited across America, and resides in numerous collections, such as the Fogg Art Museum at Harvard University, the DeCordova Sculpture Park and Museum, and many private collections. Beatty is represented by the Krakow Witkin Gallery in Boston, and is an associate professor in visual arts at the College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, MA, where he teaches sculpture and three-dimensional design.
