Michael Stamm is a painter who worked on two projects at MacDowell. First, a series of paintings of tinctures for a December two-person show in Miami. Second, he will be doing preliminary research and studies for a large-scale exhibition at Shulamit Nazarian in Los Angeles, tentatively scheduled for June 2019. He received his B.A. from Wesleyan University and an M.A. in English literature from Columbia University before earning an M.F.A. from NYU in 2016. He also attended the Skowhegan School of Painting & Sculpture (2016). He has had solo exhibitions at Thierry Goldberg Gallery (2016) and most recently at DC Moore (2018). His work has been reviewed in The New Yorker, Artforum, Art in America, and The Village Voice. He received a NYFA Fellowship in Painting in 2018.
