Minna Lee is a playwright and animator who transports audiences into worlds full of queer joy and strange magic. Lee is a co-recipient of the Dramatist Guild's 2024 Lanford Wilson award, a New Georges Affiliated Artist, a 2022 Sesame Workshop Fellow, and recently graduated from the M.F.A. playwriting program at Hunter College.

Past work includes My Home on the Moon (world premiere at San Francisco Playhouse, directed by Mei Ann Teo), and Acting Stranger co-written and performed with Andrew Schneider and Fox Whitney (co-production with On the Boards and LA Performance Practice). They're currently developing new work with Assembly Theater, San Francisco Playhouse, and Pipeline Theatre.

At MacDowell, Lee worked on a new play about a cult-y Chinese dance troupe.
