Miranda Austin is a Brooklyn-based artist making process-based drawings that explore the liminal space between creation and destruction; growth and decay.
She was the recipient of the Edward Albee Foundation Fellowship in 2012 and a MacDowell Fellowship in 2015.
Miranda Austin worked in the Cheney studio.
Cheney Studio was given to MacDowell by Mrs. Benjamin P. Cheney and Mrs. Karl Kauffman. Like Barnard Studio, Cheney is a low, broadly massed bungalow. Sited on a steep westward slope, its porches are supported on wooden posts and fieldstone with lattices.
