Molly Antopol is at work on an untitled novel. Her first book, the story collection The UnAmericans, won a National Book Foundation 5 Under 35 award, the New York Public Library's Young Lions Fiction Award, and was longlisted for the National Book Award.

In January of 1976, the original Sprague-Smith Studio — built in 1915–1916 and funded by music students of Mrs. Charles Sprague-Smith of the Veltin School — was destroyed by fire.
