At MacDowell, Nancy Davidson worked on drawings for large scale sculpture for the Cocoran Biannual in 2003 for which she was commissioned. Her work combines humor, sensuality ad the absurd. She would be having a one person exhibition in New York in 2004.

Nancy Davidson worked in the Mixter studio.
Built in 1927–1930, the Florence Kilpatrick Mixter Studio was funded by its namesake and designed by the architect F. Winsor, Jr., who also designed MacDowell's original Savidge Library in 1925.
