Nancy Reisman is the author of the novels Trompe L'Oeil, published in May 2015 by Tin House Books, The First Desire, a "New York Times Notable Book," and the story collection House Fires, which won the Iowa Short Fiction Award. Her short fiction has appeared in several journals and anothologies, including Narrative, SubTropics, Glimmer Train, Five Points, the Yale Review, Tin House, The O.Henry Prize Stories and Best American Short Stories. Resiman grew up in Western New York and lived for several years in New England and in the Great Lakes Midwest. She now lives in Nashville, Tennessee and teaches at Vanderbilt University.
