Natasha Sweeten was born the year of Woodstock in Lexington, Kentucky, and grew up there and in southern Indiana. She studied at the Cleveland Institute of Art (BFA 1993) and Bard College (MFA 1996).

Primarily a painter, Natasha also works in other mediums. She has made photo prints and collaborated with fellow artists to create sculptures, films and installations. Her work has been included in various solo and group exhibitions and reviewed in The New York Times and Art in America, among other publications. She’s been awarded a handful of artist grants and residencies. She lives with her family in Brooklyn and upstate New York.

Heinz

Natasha Sweeten worked in the Heinz studio.

The icehouse, built of fieldstone in 1914–1915, was a practical part of Marian MacDowell’s plan for a self-sufficient farm.
