Ngamanya Banda is a sculptor and visual artist from Zambia. Banda began studying in Zambia through apprenticeships with local sculptors, where he also worked as a sculptor and gallery manager for the Rockstone Artists Collective. He went on to receive bachelors and master’s degrees from the Cantonal School of the Arts of Valais in Switzerland. Banda’s work has been exhibited in multiple shows, including, Yes I Can in Espace Gaimont, Geneva, and The Collective exhibition of Lanceens artists in Ferme, Marignac. Additionally, Banda taught an introductory class in sculpture in Espace Gaimont, Geneva, and a workshop Zambia and Toys- Ethnopolis Event at the schools of the Seujet-Necker district, Geneva.

Heinz

Ngamanya Banda worked in the Heinz studio.

The icehouse, built of fieldstone in 1914–1915, was a practical part of Marian MacDowell’s plan for a self-sufficient farm.
