Peter Laszlo Koenig is a Hungarian-born artist who came to the United States in 1941. He earned a B.F.A. at Massachusetts Art College, an M.F.A. at Cranbrook Art Academy, and a master’s of education from Harvard University. Koenig has taught at various schools including Rhode Island College, Weber State College, University Colorado, University Hawaii, and the Kingswood School in Michigan. He served as dean of art at Prahan College in Australia and chairman of the Art Department at the University of Arkansas. Over the years, Koenig also worked as a Curator at Art Complex Museum, an art critic for Enterprise Newspapers, a director of exhibitions at Art Center Sarasota in Florida, and a consultant for the Cape Museum of Fine Arts in Dennis, MA. He was listed as a notable artist, educator, curator, and author by Marquis Who’s Who and is a member of American Association Museum, New England Museum Association, Falmouth Artists Guild, and the Harvard Club.

New Hampshire Studio, originally named Peterborough Studio, was given to MacDowell by Mr. and Mrs. William Schofield, Mrs. H. A. Chamberlain, Mrs. Andrew Draper, and Miss Ruth Cheney.
