Rebecca Godwin has published two novels Private Parts (Longstreet Press) and Keeper of the House (St. Martin’s Press) which was named a Top 10 book of 1995 by the Charleston, SC Post & Courier. Her short fiction has appeared in Paris Review, South Carolina Review, The Sun and elsewhere. She taught literature and writing at Bennington College for 13 years.

Rebecca Godwin worked in the Sprague-Smith studio.
In January of 1976, the original Sprague-Smith Studio — built in 1915–1916 and funded by music students of Mrs. Charles Sprague-Smith of the Veltin School — was destroyed by fire.
